Rahul Patel

Hi! I am Rahul, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. I work with Elias Khalil on using machine learning to accelerate algorithms for discrete optimization, with a focus on multiobjective and stochastic problems.

I completed my M.A.Sc. in Industrial Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, where I was affiliated with Mila and supervised by Andrea Lodi and Yoshua Bengio. Previously, I worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Shipments (2017–18), focusing on document understanding, and as a Teaching Assistant at Ahmedabad University (2016–17).
